LINC seeks to educate communities regarding the needs, rights, and talents of persons with disabilities. As such, our staff works diligently in the community making disability awareness presentations at area schools, businesses, and service organizations.

Aging & Disability Resource Specialist

LINC Incorporated was recently awarded a grant from the National Council on Independent Living and the U.S. Administration on Aging to provide an advocate as an Aging and Disability Resource Specialist (ADRS). This program provides services for individuals over 60.

The ADRS visits senior sites in St. Clair, Monroe and Randolph counties providing information on services, such as assistive aids, adaptive equipment and transportation assistance. Assistance is available to help older adults remain independent in their community. Additionally, the specialist will consult with community members and providers about services needed in their respective counties to gauge needs to be addressed through direct services, speaking engagements and workshops.

St. Clements Bridges Program

LINC has partnered with local hospitals & rehabilitation centers to provide safety nets for patients with disabilities that experience chronic illnesses. As a result of a grant from the St. Clement Community Foundation, LINC is able to educate medical professionals, patients and their families on available FREE communitybased resources provided to persons with disabilities and their families beforedischarge.
